Save the Tim DaSilva BMX Track

Tim DaSilva from Milton, Ontario was a superstar BMX racer that was bound for the Olympics one day. His passion lead him to designing and building the ultimate BMX track that he felt would take riders to a new level and play a part in the growth of the sport he loved so much.
Unfortunately, during the building of his track an accident occurred and Tim passed away while building his dream. Since then his friends and family came together and finished the track for him. The track opened up last year and was well on its way to success.

Tim died in a tragic accident while building his dream; a BMX race track; a place for children, youth and their families to enjoy, exercise, companionship and the spirit of competition. His family has taken solace in the fact that his dream had become a reality and a unique recreational facility that anyone could enjoy.

This excitement soon came to an end though. The land that the track was on, is privately owned but is a part of the Niagara escarpment and because of that the track was forced to close until further notice.

Now the Niagara Escarpment Commission (NEC) is forcing the family to flatten their son's dream in 60 days (from the end of April 2008) or the owner of the private land (Halton Place) will face stiff penalties. The family and the BMX community are calling for YOUR support to have the track re-opened and the missing permit granted. Not just for Tim DaSilva's family and friends, but for the entire community who benefits from having this unique recreational facility that was built by a young man with a vision that will become a reality with YOUR help. We need over 10,000 signatures, as many comments posted as possible, along as much support as you can give.

Please click on the BMX wheel to sign the petition or visit the Facebook Group "Save the Tim DaSilva BMX Track" for more information, pictures, videos and the opportunity to submit comments.
